LUMBERJACK/LUMBER JILL. Break out the jeans, plaid flannel shirt, suspenders, hiking boots, a knit cap and work gloves. Cut out an axe from cardboard and cover the axe head with foil. For lumberjacks, draw on beard stubble with an eye pencil, or cut a fuzzy beard out from felt. Timber!

EDUCATIONAL TOYS.  If you're going to go the toy route, it's nice to find educational toys for infants and toddlers, rather than something that will just have them veg out. Have their toy time either be intellectual and fun, or be something active that can burn off some energy.  From my poll group, I had some interesting ideas come up. Simply saving up money in an account for the child will disqualify him for all Supplemental Security Income program benefits if the account holds more than $2,000. Some well-intended families want to help their loved one who has disabilities and are surprised to find that the money they've donated to a fund in that person's name actually cuts off benefits.
