Are you expecting? Maybe you know a new mom-to-be?! Black Friday is right around the corner and could be the best time to find deals on the things she'll need to welcome her new baby. Why not take advantage of the discounts?
Scope out children's clothing stores as well as general department stores for darling duds. Don't forget to buy the right size for the season in which the baby will be born. For example, choose warm weather clothing for a baby due in June. (Hint: out-of-season clothing will likely be hanging in the clearance section, so you'll score even deeper discounts!) Also, it helps many moms to receive larger-sized clothing, such as 3 to 6 month sizes or 6 to 12 month sizes since moms usually receive a deluge of tiny newborn clothing that baby will outgrow very quickly.
Obviously, it's a great time to buy toys with stores ramped up for the Christmas and Hanukah gift-buying frenzy to come. With the deep discounts and amazing selection, you can score some amazing deals on toys for the coming little one. Just as with clothing, look ahead with toys that will have a long play life, such as high-quality wooden blocks, stuffed animals and shape puzzles, that they'll enjoy into toddlerhood. Toys like mobiles and teethers are intended for infants.
Babies are sponges for language and reading to them--even as newborns--helps build linguistic and pre-reading skills. Check out bookstores for deals on young children's classics and bundle them together, such as a few Dr. Seuss books, a pile of Little Golden titles, or Margaret Wise Brown's Good Night Moon, My World and The Runaway Bunny.
While not as fun to buy as toys, clothing, and books, linens are very useful because parents need linens--lots of linens. Little ones plow through sheets, towels and blankets pretty quickly. In anticipation of January white sales, some stores break out the deals on sheets and towels early, so peruse the baby aisle of the store to snap up the bargains.
Many stores discount gadgets around the holiday season, so check out baby monitors, nightlight music-makers (some project starry scenes in a variety of colors) and digital cameras (to snap all those gummy smiles!).
Since furniture moves slowly during the next month, many stores deeply reduce their prices to sell more merchandise. It's a great time to purchase items like a crib, changing table, bookshelf, toy chest and rocking chair for baby's room. If you buy several items from the same store, ask the manager (not a clerk) if you can have a discount for buying more at once.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!!
